WAYNE – It was a tale of two games yesterday as the Rolling Hills Post 43 Juniors of Wayne and the Rolling Hills Post 43 seniors of Wayne played host to Lakeview Bank of the Valley in legion baseball aciton.

In the juniors contest, Lakeview Bank of the Valley got things started jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after the top half of the first inning before a Brodey Munter hit drove in the first run for Rolling Hills Post 43 Juniors Wayne in the third inning.

Rolling Hills was able to tie the game up in the fourth on a James Birkel single before both teams went on pitchers duals the next two innings.

That all changed in the top half of the seventh, when Lakeview Bank of the Valley Juniors scored ten runs and never looked back as they came out with a 12-2 win.

On the seniors side, the pitchers dual got started early, as after the Rolling Hills Post 43 Seniors of Wayne scored a first inning run, both they and the Lakeview Bank of the Valley Seniors produced zeroes for the next four-and-a-half innings.

Rolling Hills Post 43 Seniors of Wayne were able to get back on the board in the bottom of the sixth, thanks to an RBI hit by Alex Rodriguez to make it 2-0.

Lakeview Bank of the Valley wouldn’t go away quietly, however, getting one of those runs back in the top-half of the seventh, but couldn’t muster anymore then that as Rolling Hills Post 43 Seniors of Wayne picked up a 2-1 victory, their 16th win of the year.

In other legion baseball action yesterday:

The Norfolk Elkhorn Valley Bank Juniors mustered just one hit in their contest as they fell to Lincoln Hotel Group (Lincoln Standing Bear) 7-0 at Veterans Memoral Park.

-The Battle Creek Seniors scored eight runs in the first two innings and held off a ferocious Hartington comeback to hold on for a 9-7 win.

-The West Point Senior Bombers raced out to an early 11-2 lead on their way to a 13-7 win over Ponca.
